Average is A-mazing!

For the first time EVER I have an average size newborn who is growing above average!! Isaac's 2 month check up was a great visit! Here are his stats at 8 weeks:

Weight: 11 pounds 5 ounces in the 50%
Height: 24 inches in the 80%

I have a baby that actually showed up on the growth charts and made a percentage that was average!! For the first time I saw average as AMAZING, the best! He is meeting his marks developmentally too:

By 2 months your child should:

Begin to smile at people     Check!
Can briefly calm himself (may suck on hands)      Check!
Tries to look at parent      Check!
Coos, makes gurgling sounds      Check!
Turns head toward sounds      Check!
Pay attention to faces      Check!
Begins to follow things with eyes      Check!
Begins to act bored (cries, fussy) if activity doesn't change      Check!
Can hold head up & begins to push up when on tummy   Working on it, we hold him too much!
Makes smoother movements with arms & legs      Check!

Most of you may laugh at my excitement but typically my babies are 1 to 2 months behind on everything, EVERYTHING! It's nice to read the milestones and rejoice that he is on track instead of being sad that he won't meet them for another month :)
